TheCatholic Moment, news publication for the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana, announced clergy assignments for 2011 in their issue published on June 5. The article mentioned retirements, changes in current assignments and the placements of newly ordained priests.
The weekend of June 4 and 5, Father Joshua Janko, Associate Pastor at St. Alphonsus Liguori, announced that he had received a new assignment along with other priests in our diocese.
Beginning, July 1, Father Janko will be assigned as director for Catholic mission at St. Theodore Guerin High School in Noblesville, Ind. He will reside at Our Lady of Grace Parish in Noblesville.
We are excited for Father Janko to receive this opportunity as he expands the areas and people his will serve throughout his priesthood. Even though we will be sad to see our Associate Pastor move, the parishioners at St. Alphonsus Liguori can agree that the students and faculty at Guerin Catholic High School are blessed to have Father Janko as part of their staff.
Father Janko has been at St. Alphonsus Liguori since 2008 and celebrated his 5th anniversary to the priesthood on June 3. There will be more information on ZionsvilleCatholic.com in the coming weeks as we celebrate this new opportunity for Father Janko and his years here at St. Alphonsus Liguori.
The Catholic Moment also announced that Father David Hasser, current associate pastor at St. Joan of Arc and St. Patrick parishes, will be assigned as the director of vocations for the diocese and his office will be at St. Alphonsus Liguori where he will also reside.
Remember to also welcome our new priests who will be ordained Saturday, June 11 - Father Joshua Bennett, Father Sean Pogue, Father Matthew Arbuckle and Father Anthony Rowland. Their new assignments and others can be found inside The Catholic Moment.
Remember to pray for our priests and all priests as they continue to answer God's call in all the various roles they will fulfill in their priesthood.
