"Hello St. Alphonsus! As part of my seminary formation, I have had the privilege to spend this spring semester in Rome, and when I first arrived in February, I had no idea how exciting this time would be.
On February 12th, my brother seminarians and I were present at Pope Francis' last general audience before he was hospitalized. I learned of his death while on my spring break travels, which my friends and I cut short so that we could attend his funeral.
During the excitement of the conclave, I spent as much time as I could in St. Peter's square waiting to see the smoke from the Sistine Chapel, and I will never forget the moment I saw the white smoke and heard the crowd go wild that Thursday evening. The following Sunday, I went to Pope Leo XIV's first Regina Coeli address."
Sam was also blessed to attend Pope Leo's Inaugural Mass! He continues to pray for our parish and asks that you keep him in your prayers as he moves forward in his formation.
